3 Days To Go : Important Changes To Google Analytics
What is changing?
On July 1, 2023, standard Universal Analytics properties will no longer process data, it will be replaced with Google Analytics 4. which simply means if you have set up your Google Analytics account with Universal Analytics, it will no longer work and you will need to update it to access the analytics and user behaviour on your site.
What does Google Analytics 4 do?
Google Analytics 4 is the next generation of Analytics which collects event-based data from both websites and apps.
- It collects both website and app data to better understand the customer journey.
- Uses event-based data instead of session-based.
- Includes privacy controls such as cookieless measurement, and behavioural and conversion modelling.
- Predictive capabilities offer guidance without complex models.
- Direct integrations to media platforms help drive actions on your website or app.
How will this affect my website or App?
You’ll be able to see your Universal Analytics reports for a period of time after July 1, 2023. However, new data will only flow into Google Analytics 4 properties.
What Do I Need To Do?
- Update the data streams in your Google Analytics account and your website or app.
- Automatically created Google Analytics 4 properties contain only basic features, so depending on your business and measurement needs, you might want to set up additional features to get the most value out of your new property.
